We’ve all been there before; you go through hours of pain & suffering, striving for optimal strength & fitness, only to find out the time & effort invested hasn't reaped the rewards you envisaged. As riders ourselves, passionate about all things performance (on / off road), we want to see the Scribe Collective roll into 2025 in the best shape possible & that's why we've taken the time to sit down with ex-professional cyclist, elite endurance coach & Scribe Ambassador Matthew Teggart, to discuss the importance of training properly over the winter months.

While it may seem counter intuitive, a planned period of rest or load reduction (recovery is the key to success, allowing your body to absorb the training effectively. As well as 20 mins of solid winter training tips, Matty has formulated a FREE plan based around a typical 10-hour training week; with 2x rest days. A standardised training example can be found below. However, if you want something more individual & personalised to you, check out Matty's website HERE for specialized 1 to 1 coaching. If you don’t have 10 hours, simply do the sessions but with less efforts! Simple.
